How to prepare for your photo session
If you think your horse will need a bath its usually better and less stressful for you to do that the day before your photo shoot or early in the morning if we are doing your session in the afternoon. The last thing you want is to be rushing and stressed on the day of your photoshoot. I want both you and your horse to feel relaxed and look your best! I always recommend if your horse is in a stall its sometimes a good idea to get them out before the photoshoot and let them move their body. They don't need to be worked hard or anything but just give them a chance to move their legs and get and silliness out their system! We are probably going to be asking them to stand in one place for some of their photoshoot so if you know your horse is a fidget I find moving them around prior to the photoshoot really helps. I have a wiggly horse of my own so I understand what its like! Shortly before your session i'd suggest getting your horse ready, get them groomed make sure any tack they will have on is clean and looking its best. Then if you are in the photoshoot then you can get yourself in your outfit, best not to get your horse ready in the outfit you plan to wear in your shoot because we all know how sometimes they loves to give you a big slobbery kiss or use you as a napkin! If both you and your horse are ready to go as soon as I get there that means you get the most out of your session with the most time in front of the camera which is what everyone wants. I can't wait to help you make your dream photos come to life!
